For this episode of The All-Around Adventure Podcast, I’m joined by Former Navy SEAL and #1 New York Times Bestselling Author, Jack Carr.
Jack began his career in Naval Special Warfare as an enlisted SEAL sniper, before transitioning to leading assault and sniper teams in Iraq and Afghanistan as a junior officer. He would later go on to serve as a platoon commander for counterinsurgency operations in the southern Philippines. As well as to commanding a Special Operations Task Unit in southern Iraq. Following the end of his 20-year career in the SEAL Teams, Jack set out to achieve his lifelong dream of becoming an author. His first book in the James Reece series, The Terminal List, was released in 2018. And has since been adapted into a series on Amazon Prime starring Chris Pratt. Now Jack’s sixth book in the series, Only The Dead, will hit shelves on May 16th!
In this episode, Jack tells us about what led him to become a SEAL and the various fiction writers who inspired him to one day become an author. He also shares stories from some of the places that he’s traveled to around the world to conduct research for his novels. Such as Mozambique in East Africa, as well as the Kamchatka Peninsula in eastern Russia. Furthermore, Jack tells us about his writing process and where he intends to take the James Reece series moving forward!
